Is the optional fan suppose to run all the time?? I just received this 9200 from a relative that hasn’t used it for. And can’t remember anything. My fan has not came on yet and the thermostat has cycled the heating element in and off.

I recommend throwing it away and getting another one. A short could be anything. And you really don’t want a fire.
